Audition Requirements - July 21, 2009

Audition requirements:
for leading and supporting roles:
(all Theatre students MUST audition for lead or supporting roles)
One monologue more than 30 seconds, but less than one minute.
16 bars (about 30 seconds) of solo singing. Must have recorded (CD/iPod) accompaniment or provide your own accompanist.  No vocals are allowed on the track.  No a cappella singing allowed.
All applicants will dance.
for ensemble:
16 bars (about 30 seconds) of singing.  May be done in a small group.  Happy Birthday is acceptable.
All applicants will dance.

C.A.R.E.S. Commercial #2 - July 20, 2009

CARES will be doing a big group shot for their PSA (Public Service Announcement) Commercial this Saturday, and we want to get as many people there as possible. It will be at 9am at Four Freedoms Park in Cape Coral (4818 Tarpon Ct.) and should only last about an hour. If you are interested in being a part of this commercial make sure you wear a solid color shirt w/ no designs, logo's, or patterns, and it CANNOT be a white shirt; and also wear jeans or navy blue bottoms/skirt. I'd love to get a list of everyone coming, so email me if you, your family, your friends...whoever is coming. Thanks so much!

C.A.R.E.S. PSA Commercial - July 14, 2009

On July 25th, CARES will be shooting a PSA commercial under the direction of a great production company. The final shot will be a group shot, and they need as many people as they can get for this final shot. They are going to be doing the final shot at 9am at Four Freedoms park in Cape Coral on the 25th. Tell anyone and everyone you know!!! If you're interested, email C.A.R.E.S. so they can put you on the list, and give you more details for the morning. This is open to all ages, and they're trying to get at least 100 people there. So, let them know if you, your friends, your family, your mailman...whoever is interested in helping a great cause!

ALL SHOOK UP MONEY - March 24, 2009

Those interested in joining us for the Tuesday March 31st evening performance of ALL SHOOK UP at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre must have their $19.00 in by tomorrow to secure a seat. This amount includes dinner and the show. Checks should be made out to Cypress Lake High School. All money should be turned into Mr. Loete.

LEMON SKY SCHEDULE CHANGES - March 6, 2009

Please note the following changes to the LEMON SKY rehearsal schedule:

The first rehearsal will be Thursday, March 12th from 2:15 - 5:00 p.m.

The Thursday, March 19th rehearsal has been changed to Wednesday, March 18th due to previously unknown schedule conflicts of the director.

MURDER IN PARADISE - February 19, 2009

There are still a few tickets left for Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre MURDER IN PARADISE.

The four course whodunit puts murder on the menu as the audience becomes suspect and private eye. Can you solve the case?

Big Arts for Cypress! - January 17, 2009

Cypress Lake Center for the Arts will be featured in the 2009-2010 ON STAGE season at Big Arts on Sanibel Island.

This honor allows Cypress to stand beside such phenomenal companies as The Florida Repertory Theatre, Verb Ballet, and Aquila Theatre Company.

Cypress will present a small play or musical comedy in late March, or early April 2010.

All proceeds go to Ronald McDonald House Charities of SWFL and all canned goods go to Harry Chapin Food Bank.
Presentation pieces will come from the theatre, dance, and vocal departments. The visual art department is also selling prints of paintings in the lobby!

Murder in Paradise and Cosi first rehearsals - December 9, 2008

The first rehearsal for Murder in Paradise will be held on Monday, December 15, 2008 in the blackbox from 2:00 - 4:00.

Rudolph...Behind the Red Nose - December 3, 2008

Chris Cooper stars in The Schoolhouse Theatre's RUDOLPH...BEHIND THE RED NOSE on Saturday, December 27 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased at the Schoolhouse Theatre box office.
There is currently only one scheduled performance, but if the show sells out they will add another.

THE GLASS MENAGERIE - October 7, 2008

A reminder to all students seeing THE GLASS MENAGERIE on Thursday....

YOU MUST BRING YOUR LUNCH! You will NOT be allowed to go to anywhere to order a lunch and will only be given the 15 minutes of intermission to eat. Please plan accordingly.

Many of you still owe $2 for transportation. Please see Mr. Loete to make arrangements to pay this or have it come out of your fundraised "bank".

We will be leaving at 9:30. You must go to your 3rd period class. Any student who does not attend the beginning of 3rd period will be given a referral for skipping.

We will return during 7th period.

Work Call cancelled - September 23, 2008

The Work Call scheduled for Friday, September 26th has been cancelled. The next scheduled work calls will be held October 3rd from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and October 4th from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
